INSPIRE's Bridge Program creates opportunities for post-baccalaureates to gain skills and experiences that can launch their careers in the geosciences. INSPIRE Bridge Scholars have the opportunity to work with researcher mentors that span a wide range of geoscience and climate disciplines.
This two-year program leverages the existing Columbia University Bridge to PhD program, which provides a range of activities and initiatives to help post-baccalaureate scholars thrive while preparing them for a successful transition into graduate school. Additional details about
the application process, are available on the
Columbia University Bridge to PhD Program web page.
Applications will open in mid-December 2024.
Please fill out the interest form if you’d like to receive more information about the program or be notified when applications open.
Potential mentors are geoscience researchers at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, and also includes faculty of both the Department of Earth and Environmental Science and the Columbia Climate School.
The INSPIRE team also curates a list of researchers who have expressed interest in hosting a Bridge to PhD Scholar.
